Dr. Joshua Vang was born and raised in the Twin Cities. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry with a concentration in Biochemistry at Carleton College. He went on to earn his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2006 from the University of Minnesota, School of Dentistry.

Dr. Vang began private practice soon after graduating in 2008 at Cherokee Dental where he’s been able to provide treatment in all aspects of dentistry from surgical to cosmetic treatments. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Minnesota Dental Association, St. Paul District Dental Society and has recently become a member of the International Academy of Facial Aesthetics where he recently became certified for Botox and Dermal fillers and continues to strive for more.
Dr. Vang was nominated as a Top Dentist in MN in 2009, 2010 and 2013 featured in Minnesota Monthly magazine. He was recently nominated for the office for the best dental care in the Reader’s Choice 2019 Lillie Suburban Newspapers and was also nominated as one of the favorite dental offices for the Nextdoor Neighborhood Favorites. Dr. Vang serves as one of the longest tenured volunteer dentists at Hope Clinic (formerly known as the Union Gospel Mission) in St. Paul and was also a former adjunct assistant professor at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry in the Prosthodontics Division.

In 2019, Dr. Joshua Vang strategically introduced aesthetic treatments into his existing practice. Starting with injectables, he began educating himself and his staff while slowly incorporating various aesthetic solutions within his dental clinic. “Aesthetics has opened my eyes and evolved our mission statement from treating the oral cavity to treating the entire body”. – Dr. Vang
With the advantage of having a thriving dental practice, Dr. Vang was able to slowly gauge patient interest in their new V10 treatments. Placing marketing material around the practice, speaking to his loyal client base about his new solutions, and providing temporary discounts enticed patients to try new treatments and later gained Cherokee dental proof of efficacy through before and after photos. “We started to get bigger with more clientele, we had a VIP event for existing clients, they brought friends and relatives, now we're doing memberships. We're starting to explode. But we made sure to start small”, explains Dr. Vang.
By being strategic and thoughtful in his approach to introducing new treatments and providing his staff with firsthand knowledge and continued hands on training, Dr. Joshua Vang has been able to successfully build his aesthetic roster of solutions. Starting out with a V10, Cherokee Dental and Med Spa Clinic now boasts a fully loaded V30, Elysion, Preime, Enerjet, Dermafuse, Pristine and Enopen devices, all from Sinclair. “I've been blessed to have everyone at Sinclair supporting me. A real 360 approach”. Dr. Vang is now rebranding his business; Cherokee Dental will soon transition to Beyond Smiles DentaSpa. Stay tuned!
